“Cinecittà is my ideal world, the cosmic space before the big bang.” Federico Fellini

When you are young, you have different dreams, when you are fourteen years old probably your dream for your birthday day is to go shopping with your mum, or have an amazing birthday party with your friends from school. My dream, when I was fourteen years old, was to go to Cinecittà, and discover the magic world of the movies, that dream, thank you to my mother’s aunt, became true. But this is an another story; now the movie lovers can appreciate the incredible, fascinating world of the cinematographic industry, through a walk in the sets such like “ Rome and Gangs of New York” and learn how a movie is made.

Cinecittà studios was founded in 1937 by Benito Mussolini, and soon it became extremely popular in the cinematographic industry. Thanks to its twenty-two theatres and the perfect location with more than forty hectares, Cinecittà was the right place for movies who won many Oscars Luchino Visconti, Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, Sergio Leone these are some of the many directors who decided to use the studios for their cinematographic masterpiece.
In the time where the Paparazzi were situated most of the time at Via Veneto in Rome, Cinecittà was under the attention, and from that moment, it made the history of the Cinema.

I would like to conclude this article, with a quote by the Maestro: Federico Fellini. I am not going to translate it, let’s just enjoy these magic words without a properly explanation.

“Con Cinecittà, come con il circo, mi si attribuisce una specie di identificazione anche in genere un diretta responsabilità: come se li avessi inventati io, se fossi stato io a tirar su i tendoni, a costruire i teatri di posa… il teatro 5 di Cinecittà è il posto ideale. L’emozione assoluta, da brivido, da estasi è quella che provo di fronte al teatro vuoto, uno spazio da riempire, un mondo da creare.”
Federico Fellini
